Onboarding Process
Welcome to Sentient! 🎉 This guide will walk you through the onboarding steps to get started with your personalized AI assistant.
Step 1: Logging into Sentient
When you run Sentient for the first time, you'll be prompted to log in.
Login with Auth0: We use Auth0 for secure authentication. Sentient only stores your username, email address, and login history in our backend. This information helps us understand our user base and allows us to reach out for feedback when needed.
Step 2: Referral Code
After logging in, you’ll be asked if you were referred by someone:
If you have a referral code: Enter the code shared by your friend or colleague and proceed.
If you don’t have a referral code: Simply click No and continue to the next step.

Step 3: Personality Test
Next, you'll see a "Get Started" button. Clicking this will launch Sentient's initial personality test.

First, you will need to enter some basic details.

After entering your basic details, the personality test will begin:

Why this test?
This one-time test helps Sentient understand your personality using the MBTI (Myer-Briggs Type Indicator) framework to personalize your AI experience. All response data stays local and is only used to personalize responses.
Test Details:
The test includes 48 simple questions.
It typically takes just a few minutes to complete.
Results:
After completing the test, you'll be shown your personality type along with a brief explanation of what it means. This insight helps Sentient tailor its responses to your preferences and communication style.

Step 4: Social Media Integration (Optional)
To further personalize your experience, Sentient offers the option to integrate data from your social media profiles:
Supported platforms:
LinkedIn
Reddit
X (formerly Twitter)
By linking these accounts, Sentient gains a deeper understanding of your professional and personal interests. All data stays local and data sources are maintained which allows you to remove the data pulled from any one source. For example, if you don’t want your Reddit data to be included anymore, you can always delete only that specific information about you.
Step 5: Building Your Knowledge Graph
Once all necessary data is collected, Sentient will begin building a personalized knowledge graph.
What’s a knowledge graph?
It’s a structured representation of important facts and details about you, enabling Sentient to provide more context-aware responses.
How long does this take?
The time required varies depending on your system’s hardware. On most devices, it only takes a few minutes.

Step 6: Welcome to Sentient!
After the knowledge graph is built, you’ll be directed to Sentient’s chat interface.
